It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is helpful in tight corners or on baseboards. Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing view in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
