Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency at which you'll need to manually vacuum. Select a vacuum that has good navigation, can clean corners and stairs and also has a large bin that needs to be cleaned out every now and then. You can also find models that clean and charge themselves, a feature that may be important for people with pets or children. A lot of the top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance. 1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good alternative for those who want a an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dust bin when it is full. Both robots do well picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors and they're excellent in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ isn't able to feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It can be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood. iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it may encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning where it began. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes three hours to charge. 2. IRobot Roomba i7+ The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most crucial feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum. The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot through the app or by voice. The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that removes major maintenance sources and lowers the cost of recurring maintenance. We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to give the i7+ voice commands, such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance. 3. Dyson Cyclone V10 This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase. The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It has three different suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It swiftly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back again. This model has a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also provides the ability to connect two attachments and an wand. This is a major improvement over earlier Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store. The biggest issue with the V10 is its limited run time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical and not a remarkable run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. That's still enough run time to clean most of a typical-sized home but not long enough to get every single area (though a second run-through usually will suffice). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is significantly better for carpet floors with low pile. 4. iRobot Roomba 694" One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is an affordable model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robot. It was able to remove the majority of types of debris and sizes in our testing and often went over the same area multiple times to give an efficient clean. Its flat front side helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice feature. Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top rated robot vacuum selections and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. This means that it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't as sturdy, and often runs out of battery power before returning to its original location. The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects, as it has fewer components that require regular maintenance It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at maneuvering itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges quicker. The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode on its own and has physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more durable, has a stronger motor, and performs better on floors with low pile and bare. 5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+ Samsung is a brand is seen on a variety of home electronics, so it comes as no surprise that they're also one of the most reputable mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows for navigation and obstacle avoidance. The app offers a wide range of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications docking frequency settings and much more. It's simple to comprehend and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices. In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, cleaning up 86 percent of it. However, it wasn't particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a problem for some buyers. The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible via the app. You can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on your pets or children while you are away. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned for the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that's self-emptying and helps keep the robot's dustbin clear and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning run. 6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum In contrast to other robotic vacuums which are designed for both carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They have an extra wide cleaning path, and dust bins that are 2X bigger than the competitors. This allows them to clean the area for a longer period of time. They also have two side sweepers to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES model comes with AutoSense that automatically adjusts the power level based on whether it is cleaning up dirt on the surface or embedded dirt. The vacuum also has an app that lets you to view an interactive map, control functions, and set schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum and connect it to its dock for charging with the touch of a single button. The app allows you to personalize the lights on top of the vacuum by using different colors, so that you can clearly see the areas where it's focused or where it's got stuck. The application also allows you to manually steer the robot in the event of need. My living room rug for instance is darkly colored that can trip up some other robots. However the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border, without registering it as an incline. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage. ![]() |
