Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item upgrades to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also have an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a single unit. In some cases this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon can sustain on its own.

A weapon's upgrade items costs depend on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons also reroll the stats of the base. While this is generally an excellent thing but it can also have negative effects as well. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are extremely lucky.

Armor items can be upgraded to boost their performance. In the case of chests or helms, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade item template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, as well as the relative value of those stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button within the item menu with the circling arrows. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you can get out of each point of health you possess, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total and each one requires you to complete a special side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each will vary. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in cold environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with your friends.

It isn't possible to upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades to the helmets and chest armor to let you sneak around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, provide the user with a temporary status effect. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. Alternatively, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a craft table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the upgrade price changes depending on what type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item upgrader kit's Mark Level as well as its rarity.

To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can choose the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP that they generate will be added to your current XP count.

Once a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate unless you make use of it again or break the bottle within which it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.

There were a few updates to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display of the item. The table of potion now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. This is the same for using a potion within an empty cauldron. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle.

Finally, there are lingering potions that are made with splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effect. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added like the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be a small ornament or object that serves a function but isn't essential, like a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket is a way to express affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to weapons, armor and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing statistics.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered using tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to purchasing a new trinket. You can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the old trinket, however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Once the old Trinkets are not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players and are an extremely popular alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other gear items that they won't replace in the near future (for example, a ring or cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm, and shoulders.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they're no longer needed, and the new trinket will receive an additional 1% upgrade bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
