World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items can be used to improve the stats of an item. Depending on the Upgrade item type it can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats. Each item has a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a certain amount. Item Level The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. This is the sum of all the upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is because of how many perks need to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded. Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips of items. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use since PvP is not available at a lower level. The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet. When deciding whether to buy or sell gear, players can compare the item level. It's a measure of the item upgrader mod's damage and quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done using the item's level. The Best item upgrader level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full description of the item, including its value. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat. There are various theories on how the calculation of an item's level is made. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula which calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration the fact that various perks have different value, and also that gems in sockets increase the overall value of the item. This can result in a calculated value for the item's level, which is usually close to Blizzard's actual level of the item. This isn't the only thing that affects the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances. Item Stats The stats of an item can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game utilizes them in a variety of ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves boosted by the player's level. Upgrades to an item may boost its stats. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade cost. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded once however, items that has rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher costs. Affixes can also be used to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes can provide the item additional damage, add a special capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or reducing cooldowns) or make the item upgrade unique by putting an exclusive name to the item. Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circles arrows. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as other options for rerolling. Players can choose to upgrade an item to specific stats, or reroll the affixes. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the level of the item, but every item is guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it is an item that is unique or a God roll from a boss of a raid. Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to roll the attachments, or pick which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be performed on a per-item basis and the interface for item comparison wouldn't show all possible stats either lost or gained at the same time. Item Luck The Luck stat of a player can increase the chance of finding items and the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves and is thus more useful in early game runs than in later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain. Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increases with each item level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing. Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted with the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can be improved by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck or to boost an item's existing Luck up to 140. Furthermore some items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available in the shop or crafted by using the appropriate ingredients. Item Failure Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful. When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%.. The Luck of an item can also influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Each item level upgrade has an initial success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases that chance by an additional 5%. It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config. |
