World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like crit chance and PvE damage.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the item. The cost increases as the level of the item increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The Best item upgrade must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear from the ascended, or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment with which it is used (for example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of that equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

The player can have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure what will be improved after the reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly, and there is a significant risk that the item may be obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could destroy Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible to level 15.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your equipment. These are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item upgrader mod is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each item level requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each upgrade items Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment, the base item is replaced by the new item. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive if you don't require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and completely different bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits the water. The item can be upgraded several times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very important in PvP. A perfectly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment - weapons, armor, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear that can be upgraded up to eight times. Each when you upgrade an item upgrader kit, it has an opportunity to fail. The rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to return to its original condition, which requires the player to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any gained bonuses such as crit chance, attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
