Best Lightweight Single Stroller

Travel strollers aren't much lighter or more compact than this. Its sleek design makes it easy to fold into a stylish rectangle shape and the wheels are much easier to turn than other models.

It also has an under-seat storage space and an arm-strap which makes it easier to carry around when you're not pushing it. However, the canopy adjustment can make lots of noise which might disturb a sleeping toddler.

1. Contours Itsy

A compact stroller The Contours Itsy offers lots of features for its tiny size. The back basket under the seat is spring loaded, so you can lower it to stuff a diaper bag or backpack in and it will pop up to protect the contents. It also has a child accessory tray and adjustable reclining seat back pad, which are more options than you normally get on a stroller that is light.

It also comes with a canopy that can be shut and opened to achieve the sun protection level you want. The handlebars are height-adjustable to allow for a comfortable fit four different positions. However, we weren't thrilled with the quality of its ride on rough terrain. We found that the suspension and wheels did not do a good job of absorbing shocks and bumps.

It's an ideal travel stroller because it comes in the box fully assembled, and requires only a few steps to get it in use. The seat can be pushed forward and back to adjust the recline. It's quite flat. Two buttons on the frame make it simple to fold and unfold. It also fits into a very convenient carrying bag when not in use. In fact, it's one of the smallest strollers we've tested, and it easily can meet the requirements of many airlines for gate-checking or cabin storage on airplanes. Make sure to check with your airline to find out whether there are any restrictions prior to your flight. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus

This stroller is a great choice for those who need an easy-to-travel stroller. It comes with all the features that parents want in a stroller. This includes all-terrain tires and front suspension for a smooth ride. It's also extremely light at less than 12 pounds. It also has a handy one-hand Buggy single and self-standing fold. It also has an adult tray and a child tray and two cup holders.

Its build quality isn't very good, and it didn't perform well in our maneuverability test. It is a slender frame which makes pushing it on rough surfaces feel like lifting heavy weights. This might be fine when you use the stroller on smooth streets, but for the majority people, it's likely to not be a pleasant experience.

The Cloud Plus features a three-tiered extended canopy with an open window that provides additional sun protection. Its multi-position seat accommodates children weighing up to 50 pounds and features the 5-point safety restraint system. This is a great option for older toddlers who have outgrown their infant car seats.

It features a one-step, compact folding mechanism and can be folded with just a touch of a button. It also has a convenient brake that is triggered by the foot and easy to adjust and release.

However the handle is lower than other strollers we looked at and some parents might be uncomfortable for long periods of time. It does come with the ability to lock the handle to keep it in place while open, though. This is a fantastic feature if you plan to use the stroller on uneven or muddy terrain.

3. Munchkin Sparrow

The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the ideal stroller for parents who are always moving. This compact stroller is easy to fold up and down and easily fits in overhead compartments on planes and in trunks at amusement parks (no worries about parking fees). It is also equipped with a simple-zip carrying bag that can be easily stored. It can be used with the infant car adapter right from birth and offers good sun protection with its canopy. The only downside for parents who have children is that they find the look cheap and utilitarian.

The BabyZen Yoyo+ is a bit more expensive than the other lightweight single umbrella stroller strollers, but it was designed specifically for luxurious urban and travel. It's among the smallest strollers to fold (and comes with a handy carry case), and it offers plenty of storage space, including the cup holder. The seat is comfortable for the child and the adult and it reclines to a nearly flat position. This is the only stroller on our list that can be used for a newborn with the car seat adapter. Some short parents may not like the handlebar, which does not adjust.

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 isn't the lightest stroller on our list, but it comes with many great features that help kids travel more easily. The large seat reclines to a flat position, and it comes with extra padding to make those plane napping sessions more comfortable. The extendable canopy has a lot of sun-shade and the tray that is on the back has plenty of storage. It also has an adjustable handle that doubles as a footrest when folded. This footrest, however, appears to be prone to damage from baggage handlers.

4. Uppababy Minu V2

The Uppababy Minu V2 is a top stroller that doesn't compromise on quality and design. Its compact design allows it to easily navigate through tight spaces and narrow sidewalks however its sturdy construction allows it to handle rough terrain without compromising comfort of your child. Front and rear spring-action suspensions create a noticeably more comfortable ride for both of you, and its sturdy materials ensure it can withstand everyday wear and tear without losing its shape. It can also be expanded to accommodate other accessories, such as a bassinet and infant car seat.

In our tests during our testing, the Minu was easy to fold and move around even with a child in the hand. Its squat nearly square fold which folds in thirds, is among the most simple folds we've seen and allows it to easily fit into overhead compartments on planes or public transportation. It has a single stroller with bench seat-action color-coded brake that is easy to use.

The seat reclines in multiple positions, and the leg rest can be adjusted with one hand, making it simple to find your child's perfect position. The UPF 50+ hood came down quite a bit, which was great for shielding Cora's eyes from the sun (though not quite as low as some other strollers). The medium-sized mesh window is attached magnetically to the canopy and closes without using noisy Velcro.

The Minu weighs in at just 15 pounds, and comes with an integrated handle that makes it easy for transport. It also comes with an adjustable shoulder strap. It can also be stowed in the trunk of your car, and it comes with a storage container and access to the Uppababy TravelSafe program, which provides two years of manufacturer's warranty and provides replacements for items damaged during air travel.

5. Joovy Aire

Joovy is a well-known brand that produces various strollers. This light-weight model is a good choice for parents who want a workhorse stroller that carts kids around, offers ample storage, is fairly simple to use and doesn't require an engineering degree to fold. It's not the ideal choice for those who want an automobile seat-compatible model or a double stroller, though. It doesn't accept infant car seats. Your children must be able sit up on their backs before they can use it.

This stroller comes with a number of solid features, and it comes with a hefty price. It was awarded a higher score in our review of maneuverability than other models with similar specs, and is an excellent choice for smooth paved surfaces. It also has a lovely canopy and plenty of storage including a large tray for parents. The front wheel suspension is stiff, and the handlebar is a bit smaller than the norm, but it offers a comfortable ride for adults.

If you have twins or two children with different ages, you may discover that a stroller with a side-byside feature is the best option to move them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove, which has a variety of features and a small footprint that fits where most other side-by-side alternatives can't.

It features reclining seats that are individually adjustable, a large canopy with an opening window that can be seen from afar and lots of storage. It's heavier than other side-bysides but it has a decent capacity for weight and can handle most children up to 50 lbs. It's possible to add a bassinet to front of the stroller for infants.

If you're looking for a more luxurious version of this stroller the Caboose Sit and Stand Stroller is a worthy alternative. It comes with the same great features as the model above and can be fitted with a bassinet that allows you to bring your baby home from the hospital in fashion.
