About Toto

The band Toto was formed in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro and David Paich (who were also acclaimed studio musicians who worked with Boz Scaggs at the time) and singer/bassist Bobby Kimball. The name of the group came from the Latin word that translates to "all-encompassing" and was determined to explore every style of music.

In 1981, Toto's third album Turn Back was a complete failure, but they rebound with their fourth album Isolation that features two hits including the title track and Roseanna. The album and tour helped them become a household name all over the world.

After a brief hiatus, Toto returns with the album Fahrenheit. It is a departure from the ballads of previous albums and includes some heavy rock. This album was their first to be certified platinum in North America.
