We contacted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects - for her suggestions on how to pick the best one. They looked at the capacity of storage, layout, and energy efficiency among other aspects.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

As its name suggests, the GE Profile series is targeted at consumers who want to integrate cutting-edge features in their kitchen. This refrigerator has it all, from a Keurig K cup coffee maker in the door to a sophisticated dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. The refrigerator is expensive and I expected more.

Aside from that blip, this fridge is a great choice. It has a large freezer compartment that is not common for counter-depth French door fridges. It also has a large capacity for frozen food, which is a big difference from other models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about what is french door fridge you would expect from the size of a french door fridge freezers uk door fridge costing this much. It has a decent-sized freezer in the left side. However it's not the biggest one I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in each compartment to create a custom storage setup for the items you need to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS also looks attractive. The LED lighting is an attractive touch. The storage bins in the door include a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall objects. The drawers include temperature controls that let you set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. The drawers are simple to open and close however I found the plastic's textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes the full suite of features you'd expect from a fridge at this price with Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and it has many options for customizing. It will also send you notifications when the door is left unlocked and when the fridge or freezer requires defrosting, and when the filter requires a change.

It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill it's an option in a few other GE fridges that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to dispense at once. The fridge displays a countdown to show you how much water is left, but it's not as useful as Precise fill.

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a stunning piece of equipment. It's designed to appear like it's a seamless component in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. The ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient, and it produces an ice pyramid with only a little water. This fridge was rated as the top in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just a few degrees Fahrenheit, never fluctuating more than a fraction of a degree--this is key to avoiding freezing burn. The fridge's refrigerator section also performed well, achieving the temperature that was set for the initial setting within a matter of hours and keeping that temperature steady throughout the course of our tests.

Bosch has a reputation for high-end appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance with the option to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is pricey, but offers great features and functions at a fair price.

While the fridge is an amazing appliance, it's important to know the limitations. You may need to get creative with tall objects because the fridge has a limited shelf space. Also the shelves aren't sprillproof and can be easily damaged or stained by sharp objects. The trays can be easily removed from the fridge. However, they should be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S is a great counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage in the frame's compact size. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those who want to combine the look of a French door refrigerator with an efficient design. Its capacity is above average for smallest counter depth french door refrigerator-depth models and is able to cool evenly. It's also a little cheaper than the best counter-depth refrigerator with an ice maker, which can make it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you're looking for a French door fridge that doesn't break the bank, this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a basic fridge which may not be as attractive as its rivals, but it still has enough features to make a good choice. Its most significant feature, the adjustable temperature drawer helps to keep food items like vegetables and meat fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser, as well as an excellent ice maker that operates quickly.

Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. The drawer lets you redirect some of the refrigerator's cooling power into the area so that you can keep food items that require special attention. This feature is adjustable using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also use this feature to set a general cooling level for the entire fridge however, I've found that changing the general settings tends have a better effect than specific ones.

In my tests, the refrigerator's temperatures were fairly consistent across all areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary very far from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. That's a good performance, but it doesn't quite be among the top in our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's outside is made of grey-bodied stainless steel that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It does an excellent job of removing streaks and fingerprints even when compared to the glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
