As time passes, the handles on your doors will get worn out and require replacement. It is important to be able to match the dimensions of the handles that were previously used when replacing them.

The top screw's location as well as the lever and keyhole sizes are the three measurements you need to verify. Refer to the size guide for assistance with this.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever door handle is a modern handle that can be put in on new or replacement doors. This style of handle is available in various styles and finishes. This handle is available from several manufacturers including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

The door handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are ideal for multi point lock doors that require a strong design. The handles are inline and operate from the same spindle and screw fixings so they can be easily fitted to new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be placed and angled to accommodate the needs of all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200 000 cycles. This helps ensure that the quality of finish and performance will last for a long time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly useful for doors with narrower frames, where the cylinder is further back. A shortened lever can also be used for doors that have a latch which can be operated with the thumb located on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently to the lever type handles on doors. These handle types can either use a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are usually used on UPVC doors with double glazed windows handles double glazing door handles. They are available in a range of finishes & variations.

The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in various finishes like White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with an outstanding performance and long-lasting durability for the purpose it was designed for.

All UPVC levers for handles come with a spindle, screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixing centres allow for a wider handle, which can be beneficial in replacing a defective or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are sprung, solving the problem of handles that slide out of their horizontal position when not in use.

It is crucial to ensure that the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement may also be called 'handle centre' or cylinder centres'. It is important for matching the correct handles.

Once you have the correct PZ size you will then need to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are in a suitable shape to fit the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compatible handles you require for your doors. These are usually square or round with an internal lever and an external door handles euro lock push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position after not in use, instead of hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from entering a home. You will also find that the majority of UPVC lever pad handles are hand-operated that allows you to put them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are usually used on uPVC doors, but can also be found on other types of door. The cylinder lock operates with a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. This reveals pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock, and permit them to turn the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins with external and internal doors usually having different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is crucial; it is dependent on how your doors and handles are used. For example, external doors must be secured with a more secure cylinder whilst internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that increase security, like anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured correctly to ensure it's the correct size for your victorian door handle. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn in the event that one is present. If you are unable to measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can remove it. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon could be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, so it is essential to make sure it's not too long.

The design of many modern cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to minimize attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This can help prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.

Certain cylinders are made to resist snapping. This is a more frequent method of attack on cylinders where the break line inside the lock is attacked using a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than gaining access through a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in which can hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is situated within the base plate of your door handle. It provides a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles to their original position after use. In the past, a lot of handles didn't have a spring built into them, and without it they tend to droop or drop once the locking mechanism is removed. Adding this simple component is among the most effective ways to fix this, and is an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in either closed or open position, as they are not always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with sprung multipoint lock. They are not compatible with handles that are not sprung and you'll need to cut a hole in your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please see the image for a more detailed diagram). These cassettes are a replacement to broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are fitted with a square cut-out that allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and are sold as a set.
