Saab Key Replacement

Losing your car keys or lost is extremely frustrating. It's cheap and easy to add a new car key if you have an additional key.

To add the new key, you will need to remove the electronics from your old key fob and get it programmed to your car via a special saab key fob tech 2 device. You'll be charged in the event that you delay this procedure.

Keys lost or stolen

Lockouts

Saab owners should always have an extra key since it's much easier to replace keys lost or stolen. If you've lost your only key it's a different matter as it's quite expensive to replace it and requires the dealer to install and program a new TWICE module (Column Integration Module on earlier automobiles) and also a brand-new key that is OEM (not from Amazon or eBay).

If remote control keys are not locking or unlocking your car, there are many possible causes. The most common cause is a dead coin-cell battery in the key fob, however it can be caused by worn out buttons or water damage, or receiver module issues.

If your issue continues to persist even after having checked all of these, you may want to try reprogramming your ignition key. This is done by changing (in inverse Hex) the number count to zero in the ECU. To do this you need access to the case of your car key fob. This can be done by removing your emergency key from the fob. After that, you can use a screwdriver with a flat head to open the case and expose the battery. Do not spill liquids or drop them into the fob, as this can cause damage to the electronic components.
