The Combo i5/i5+ has the patent-pending Dirt Detect technology which helps the robot focus more attention on spots that are dirty.

This robot's auto-emptying Clean Base can hold up 60 days of debris and reduces the requirement for manual maintenance. It also has a recharge and resume feature that will send the robot back to its home base for charging whenever its battery is exhausted. It will then pick up exactly where it was when it left.

The i5+ robot is perfect for homes with many rooms. However, it's not meant for carpeted or stairways. It also has a small dust bin capacity, which means it won't be able clean your entire home when you have a significant amount of trash or pets. If you're seeking a Roomba capable of handling more difficult environments, you should consider the i7 or i9 model. These robots are better equipped to take on stairs and can be used to mop wet areas. This premium model comes with high-end features and top-of-the-line performance that should help it attract buyers away from the vast majority of low-cost competitors. The most notable upgrade is a built-in automatic dirt disposal system that eliminates the need to empty a trash bin after each clean. Another feature is persistent mapping, which allows the i7+ to remember the layout of your home and adapt to various layouts on the fly.

The Combo i7+ has a simple setup process, which includes a clear on-screen guide that walks you through the initial registration and set-up. Once the robot has been registered it will be able to mop or vacuum using the iRobot HOME app, or Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands. The i7+ can be easily programmed, allowing you schedule cleaning sessions and to set virtual boundaries.

In our tests, the i7+ performed well in climbing over floor breaks and rugs with ease. It was also able identify obstacles like furniture without a problem, but it wasn't able to get over a two-inch marble slab which separated the kitchen and living areas. The edge cleaning capabilities are superior to what we have seen with the budget robot vacuums. It has a good grip on corners.

Once the i7+ reached its maximum capacity, it returns to its Clean Base and empties its contents. It then gets ready for the next clean. You can add cleaning fluid by pressing a button located on one side of the robot. A small water tank or dustbin will then be clipped open.

The only issue is that the Clean Base takes up a considerable amount of space which makes it difficult to put the i7+ away in a closet when it's not being used. This is a common issue with robot cleaners, and a majority of manufacturers have smaller charging stations that are smaller. These stations are usually designed to fit in under cabinets, making it easier to hide your irobot robot while not in use. iRobot has reached out to us following publication to clarify that the Combo i7+ is designed to be used only with the manufacturer-approved cleaning solution (sold separately). It is not recommended to use water since it can damage internal components and reduce performance.

This robot mops and vacuums at the same time, using its dual stainless steel arms that grab dirt and debris as it moves. It lowers its mop when it sees carpets to avoid getting carpets wet. This is a wonderful feature. This feature that irobot vacuum cleaner and mop calls Dry Rug Intelligence, worked well in my tests and was a big improvement over earlier Roomba models which could only vacuum or mop without changing mode.

The iRobot App allows you to create an effective cleaning routine and view the status and history. The app also includes "robot health" information, like the length of time your iRobot will run before it requires a new pad or filter. The app also contains specific instructions, troubleshooting suggestions, and advanced settings to adjust the mopping water, the number of mopping passes per flooring, and more.

IRobot's new navigation system lets the i8 navigate around your home. Additionally, it can get around obstacles like power cords easily. The navigation system also recognizes different floors and adjusts its cleaning route accordingly. If you live in a a very large home it could require several runs to finish its mapping process.

This robot also operates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You can control it with your voice. This is a fantastic feature for busy people. This is a great feature for those who need to keep their homes clean regularly and efficiently.

In addition to being able to connect to smart home devices and other smart Home cleaning automation devices, the iRobot i8 can work with the iBraava Jet M6, which can automatically set off to mop after the i8 has finished vacuuming. The i8 comes with a Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal system and an additional HEPA filter.

This is the latest iRobot flagship model, and it's the most powerful robot vacuum to date. It has a bigger dust bin, is able to move more easily over rugs, and is able to detect more debris on all floor types. The i9+ is also one of our favorite models for cleaning floors with no carpet. It's efficient in removing various debris without leaving streaks, unlike some of its competitors.

iRobot introduced a variety of upgrades with this model. This includes the i7+'s outstanding performance, and a D-shaped design which improves its ability to navigate around corners and edges. The software is able to be updated and allows you to transfer maps from a previous device or create new ones when needed.
