What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob

It's easy to change the battery in your key fob from Nissan. It may seem daunting initially, but you'll get the grasp of it in no time.

Smart Keys Keys

The key fob included with the Nissan is a vital part of its incredibly advanced keyless entry system. It connects to the vehicle's electronic system to open doors or start the engine, and it has a convenient design that is easy to carry around. Intelligent Key Fob

Like all remotes, Intelligent Key fobs require batteries to function. Our Parts Department will help you quickly and efficiently replace it if it runs out of batteries. To do this, remove the key from its hidden compartment and then open the battery compartment of your key fob. Remove the battery that was in it, then place a brand new one in its place. Assure that the positive side of your new battery faces in the same direction it did with the original one. Finally close the battery compartment and return the hidden key to its hidden place inside the case.

Remote Start

Nissan remote start permits drivers to cool or heat their vehicles from outside insofar as they're within the operating range. The car's ignition is activated when the driver presses the button on the key fob or smartphone app. The remote start system can also activate the climate control to allow the driver to decide on their preferred temperature. Some systems offer two-way communication that lets the driver observe what's happening in their vehicle.

Lockout Protection

Lockout protection stops locks that are caused by the failure of the impedance. A special module inside the power control unit is able to monitor for the activity of the impedance relay, and then shuts off the output. This option is available on vehicles equipped with the Smart Key system, or via the personalization menu.

Many serious accidents have occurred because a machine started up when it was supposed to be turned off for maintenance or repairs. These incidents are usually the result of stored energy that isn't properly released. Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) is a method to ensure that machines are completely off until a person with authorization releases them, helps avoid these incidents.

The LOTO system is comprised of a number of locks, tags, and other devices that secure, isolate or shut off a device from an electric source. All "affected" and "authorized" personnel must be educated on the use of these lockout/tag-out devices. These devices include, but are not only restricted to chains, locks and padlocks. Each device is identified and labelled, including the date and the time it was put in use, the name and title of the person who is authorized, and the purpose of the lockout/tagout (repairs, maintenance, etc.). It must be stated clearly that these devices are not able to be removed until a complete LOTO procedure has been completed.
