Best iRobot Vacuums

This entry-level iRobot model is an excellent choice for those who do not want to shell out the more expensive cost of a higher-end model. It has impressive navigation and obstacles-avoidance technologies, and offers app and voice control along with scheduled cleanings.

In our tests, its performance in vacuuming was outstanding. It was able to remove 55% of the dust. And its mopping was a success in eliminating dried milk staining.

1. Roomba S9+

After a month of testing robot vacuums, I think the Roomba s9+ is the best choice for most homes. Its unique shape allows it to get closer to corners and walls for a better clean, and its powerful motor does a better job of cleaning kitty hair and litter than any other robot I've tried. The s9+ also comes with advanced features like Dirt Detect and the capability to choose when it cleans using the iRobot Home app.

While I'm not as sold on the s9+'s'smart dirt sensor' (it's meant to identify areas that have high concentrations of debris and focus its cleaning power on those areas) or its quiet mode (which is more like it's shut off, rather than activated) but its overall performance is unmatched by any other robot vacuum I've seen. It's also more effective at picking up kitty-litter and pet hair than its nearest competitor, the slightly cheaper ONSON GOOVI robot F007.

2. Roomba J7+

The Roomba j7+ is among the top robot vacuums that also offers wet mopping capabilities. The j7+ uses advanced technology to eliminate obstacles and clean your floors without snagging any spot. This new feature lets the robot avoid obstacles such as pet poop and other objects which could cause the robot to break or become stuck. This feature is a big improvement over previous models that were able to dodge obstacles by luck or with the help of a map that was programmed by the user.

The j7+ is programmed to create its own smart map of your home's surroundings by sending it on a map mission via the app. Once it has created a map the j7+ will keep it in mind and automatically navigate to the location for future cleaning tasks. You can modify the map and label rooms and set up cleaning zones in order to personalize the navigation options of the j7+. The J7+ is a mighty battery that can last more than 100 minutes on one charge. It is quieter when it is cleaning carpets versus hard flooring, but still produces less noise than the CDC states that the majority of people find annoying (about 60 decibels).

When equipped with the mopping attachment the j7+ will automatically swap between sweeping and mopping to ensure that your floors are completely clean. It comes with a powerful, 3-stage cleaning system that includes a powerful vacuum, edge-sweeping brushes, which can maneuver around furniture, tight corners, and two rubber brush heads with multi-surfaces that work on different types of floors. The j7+ also does well at picking up pet hair and debris off carpets with no pile and floors with low pile.

Although the J7+ is a great robot vacuum, it's not as good as our top choice, the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni. The X1 has a better battery life and faster charging speed, and is compatible with an auto-emptying base station and can detect your schedule to organize autonomous cleaning sessions, has a superior camera for recognizing hazards such as pet waste and power cables, feels more sturdy and reliable, has a mopping attachment, can better navigate messy areas, and does a better job at getting rid of pet hair off of bare floors.

3. Roomba i3 EVO

The Roomba EVO is a fantastic robot vacuum for floors with no carpet. The BestReviews Testing Lab put it up against the Shark AI Robot, and even though both models have the same cleaning capabilities, we found that the i3 EVO was better equipped to handle both carpeting that has high and low piles. The i3 has a bigger dirt container, meaning it doesn't have to be emptied as frequently. It also comes with a Dual Virtual Barrier device that allows you to mark areas that the robot is not to clean, which makes it an ideal choice for homes where pets reside.

Similar to other irobot roomba self emptying robotics, the i3 EVO also uses smart maps to remember your home's layout and divisions, but it does this without the help of a camera that the i8/i8+ and j7/j7+ and s9/s9+ do. The i3 EVO instead uses floor-tracking sensor to determine the location of rooms and how they're divided. After mapping is completed, the i3 EVO displays the smart map in the app, allowing you to adjust the dividers and room labels if needed.

Based on irobot for pets OS, the i3 EVO keeps one step ahead of everyday dirt. It will learn your habits for cleaning and provides suggestions, such as scheduling cleaning times when you're away from your home or suggesting extra cleans during peak pollen or pet shedding season. You can also begin cleaning by simply speaking by using Google Assistant or Alexa.

The i3 EVO is impressive at cleaning floors with no flooring, and tackling smaller particles like rice and bulkier materials like cereal in one go. It isn't as good at removing pet hair and other small particles that can be found on floors however, and requires multiple passes to fully clear them. This is not uncommon for robovacs with no special suction system for pet hair.

When the i3 EVO dustbin is full it automatically empties the contents into the docking station's outside debris compartment and continues cleaning. It will also return to the station and begin charging when the battery is low. This feature keeps your hands free of germs, and the i3 EVO's performance will stop deteriorating as debris accumulates.

4. Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet is a mopping irobot robotic designed to make cleaning floors more easy. It's different from irobot vacuum cleaner Braava's previous models, and has a bigger tank of water that is underneath its sleek new lid. It actually mop your floors with a safe cleaning solution, unlike other 2-in-1 hybrids. It also comes with a nice adjustable nozzle that allows you to select the cleaning area, and smart recharge and resume functions.

It's simple to set up and use. Just connect it, download the iRobot app and follow the set-up instructions. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can simply use an order to start cleaning or to check its status.
