What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob

Smart Keys

Intelligent Key Fobs have an antenna built-in which sends the signal to your vehicle every time you hit a button or walk towards it. When the vehicle receives the signal it is activated to unlock and lock doors, starting the engine, and opening the trunk. If you'd like to test out the fob, stand a distance from your vehicle, and then press the buttons. If the lights flash, or the horn sounds, you have successfully programmed the Intelligent Key Fob.

Batteries are required to operate Intelligent Key Fobs. If yours has run out, our Parts Department can help you replace it swiftly and easily. To do this, remove the key that is hidden from your key fob, then access the battery compartment. Replace the old battery with a brand new one after taking out the old one. Make sure the positive side of your new battery faces in the same direction as it did with the old one. Close the battery compartment and then, after that, return the key to its hid place inside the case.

Remote Start

Nissan remote start is a feature that allows drivers to cool or warm their vehicle from outside of the vehicle, if they're within operating range. The ignition of the car is activated when the driver pushes a button on the key fob or smartphone application. Many serious accidents have happened because a machine was started when it was supposed to be completely shut down to prevent maintenance or repair. Lock-out tag-out (LOTO) systems can prevent these accidents by making sure that the machines remain off until the authorized individual releases them.

The LOTO system consists of a number of locks, tags, and other devices to isolate, secure or shut off a machine from an electrical source. All "affected", "authorized", and "qualified" personnel should be instructed in the use of these devices. These devices include, but aren't only restricted to chains, locks, and padlocks. Each device is uniquely identified and labeled, containing the date and time of its application and the name of the authorized person, and the reason for the lockout or tag-out (repair, maintenance, etc). It is essential to clearly state that these devices are not to be removed until the LOTO procedure is complete.
