Slot Missions in Hogwarts

Slot missions are a great way to earn gear, weapons and other items. They're not easy to complete.

Concealed Weapon Slot

The concealed weapon slot is a unique slot that allows you to carry pistols into an operation. Some players utilize this slot to achieve certain goals, especially those going for Suit Only. Some players utilize the extra pistol to bridge gaps. When using this slot, it is important to keep in mind that you'll have to click the corresponding pistol category button, like the slot 2 alternative for machine guns, in order to select them. Being able to have Major Expedition and Adept Rider active makes this much simpler to accomplish. This combo will add a damage tick every 10 seconds from Concealed Weapon for as long as it is in the slot.

Smuggled Item Slot

The smuggled items slot is a great feature that lets players bring tools and weapons into the game, but it could be improved. It's currently shaped as the shape of a pistol, making it difficult to differentiate the smuggled weapon slot from other top developer slots for gear.

The smuggle slot can hold a large variety of items, from subtle concussion devices, to weapons-grade explosives. These items are covertly stashed in a hidden location on the map and can be recovered at any moment. The items that are smuggled differ from Agency Pickups or Hidden Stashes that hide small items in the scenery or objects.

Mission planning is an option available in the form of episodic missions. It allows players to unlock different starting locations, smuggled objects, and gear slots prior to entering the map. These planning options increase as players advance through challenges and gain higher Mission Mastery levels. This allows players to create the perfect mission for each challenge.

Gear Slot

In the beginning of the game, players will find their gear slots rapidly fill up, leading to the dreaded "Your Gear Slots are Full" message that prevents Max from acquiring new equipment until old items are cleared or a larger space is obtained. The solution to this issue is the Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials which offer more inventory space in exchange for fulfilling challenges. Since a lot of these challenges can be overlooked and are scattered around the world, it may take some time to obtain the maximum number slots for inventory in the game.

The five Gear Slots of a player can be filled with up to five different types of gear, which must be selected in the Gear Selection menu before a Break-In can begin. Each gear item (except the Pistol) takes up one Gear Slot while a set of similar items (like a group of Grenades of the same type) only has one Gear Slot.

Agency Pickups

As you progress through Mission Mastery levels, you unlock various agency pickups throughout the map. These locations let you store items that don't fit in your concealed weapon or gear slot and take them out later.

These pickups are particularly useful when you have to pass through a frisk later in the game, or if you are carrying a weapon that might otherwise trigger suspicion. You are only able to hide one item in a pickup location.

This DLC also includes new asset protection and security contracts to the agency. To begin these missions, simply contact the receptionist at the agency and stock up on armor and snacks. Then, head to the mission marker and identify a mob when you arrive.
