The IQ app comes with advanced mapping and automated features, however it lacks no-go zones. These are available only on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing technology allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is very effective but it could get caught in rug tassels.

During our tests, we discovered that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to remove lots of debris on floors that were unfinished and a good amount of medium-pile rug. It was less efficient with shag carpets. It was unable to reach dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was able to maneuver the legs of a chair, tiny spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. The IQ is a better option over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on charge, and is capable of maneuvering itself around obstacles. It also comes with a mopping attachment that can deal with sticky messes. On the other side, the iRobot is built better and has fewer components that require maintenance or replacement and has lower recurring costs and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It can continue cleaning where it left off even if the battery runs out before it's finished.
