Types of UPVC Door Handles

This is also the reason behind the levers you find in a variety of everyday tools such as crowbars, fishing rods, claws for hammers, and even your own legs when you stand on the hand brakes of your car.

Lever/Pad

In some instances the snib button can cause problems, especially when you have older locks or doors that are bent. If the snib is used in a mistake or by a person who isn't accustomed to it, the door can close and lock you out. Usually, you can still be able to get in by knocking the door's frame or letterbox, but this isn't a good idea.

Lever/Moveable Pad

This popular handle design is typically used for front doors. It offers the benefit of preventing the door being opened without an outside key in the event that the lock has not been deadlocked. This is accomplished by using an external handle that is shaped like a pad that locks into the gap between the handle and lock case.

This type of handle is designed for uPVC doors fitted with multipoint locks that operate with split spindle operations. This kind of operation requires that the lever handle and external pad handle both be fitted to the same lock case. The lever/lever handle is one of the most well-known types of upvc door handles and comes in a range of styles. It is comprised of two inline handles that can be moved and can be locked with either a key or a thumbturn cylinder that is inside. Pad handles can be used as an alternative to lever or lever handles. It is made up of a fixed or moveable pad that can be used to operate a lock.
