If your vehicle is equipped with an installed dealer-installed Engine Remote Start accessory, you can also use the key fob to activate this feature. The vehicle will then heat or cool to the temperature it was set to when it was parked, and can run for up to 15 minutes.

Remove the back cover of the key fob by using your fingernail. Under the cover, on a diagonal near the body's edge you will find the button. You can remove it by sliding it downwards and then to the right. The cover will come loose and slide off, revealing the manual blade! If you're still unable to locate the button, search around the newly exposed manual key access to find whether there's a hidden slot or lever.

Closing the Windows

Volvo key fobs feature an option that hides behind them that allows you to immediately roll down all windows. This is a great feature when trying to squeeze into a tight parking spot, or even just when you're in need of fresh air inside the cabin while driving.

Press and hold the unlocking button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower all of the windows, and the sunroof, if your car comes with one. After that, once you're done with your car, you can close everything by pressing the lock button again for four seconds.

You can also set off the panic alarm inside your car using the key fob. This will emit an intense, attention-grabbing roar that could frighten away thieves and help you get home safely after a long night out. This feature is useful when you live in a neighborhood that is prone to crime or wish to safeguard your family members when they are away.

Opening the Tailgate

Volvo has packed its key fob with a many useful features. They are ideal when you have your hands full with shopping, or helping your children pack their sports gear after practice.

If you have the Hands-Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) Then you can open it by using the key fob. It is possible to open the liftgate by pressing the button and then close it using the same button.

When you're ready to start your vehicle, use the key fob to push the START button (and do not worry about your battery dying or your car not starting because it has a backup mechanical key slot too). This is just one of the many tips that will benefit your new Volvo.

Switching off the Alarm

Modern key fobs are much more practical than a mechanical car key. They aren't always working perfectly and the batteries may go out. If you're running out of time or don't want to go to an establishment to get your key fob reset, you can attempt to get it to work at home.

Lay out your key fobs as well as batteries and additional keys on a clean surface. Locate the small black button on the left-hand corner of the key fob volvo fob and slide it to the right. The cover will fall off and reveal the key blade that is mechanical beneath.

You can unlock all doors and the rear gate by pressing the unlock button on the key fob twice. By pressing the lock button for two seconds, you will be able to close the windows and sunroof when they're equipped. Reconnect the battery and the alarm should cease. If not, the owner's guide should include a reset procedure.
