wireless-bluetooth-over-ear-stereo-headpOver-ear headphones can block out external noise. Look for headphones that have active noise cancellation and a battery life of at minimum 20 hours.

The Sennheiser Momentum 4s come with an outstanding ANC feature, [empty] a convenient control for the ear, and an app that is easy to use. The default sound profile offers punch and thump, but vocals and instruments can be pushed to the background.

1. Sony WH-1000XM5

The Sony WH-1000XM5 is a fantastic pair of headphones for those who love music and want the most wireless headphones bluetooth headset. They're light and comfortable with a carrying case and fold flat for easy storage in your bag. The controls are easy to use and intuitive, and their battery lasts an impressive 30 hours with ANC shut off. They also have an auto-pause feature which turns off your headphones once they're removed from your head in order to save battery.

The WH-1000XM5 can be used with Sony's Headphones Connect app which offers an array of features that can be used to customize your audio experience. The app can also be used to track your location and tailor ambient sound features to your surroundings. They also have built-in microphones for making calls without hands. The Sony WH1000XM5 can be used to play music using Bluetooth or via a wired connection using the cable included. They can support aptX, HD aptX and aptX Adaptive codecs that deliver high quality audio over Bluetooth.

Similar to the XM4, the WH-1000XM5 is light and comfortable, with well-padded headbands and ear cups. They're comfortable to wear for long periods of time and are comfortable enough for long commutes and flights. They feature excellent noise canceling performance that eliminates most background noise without compromising on clarity and clarity. The Sony WH1000XM5 headphones feature an excellent amount of bass, particularly for closed-back headphones. They also offer excellent soundstages and clear separation between instruments and vocals.

They have a low latency for watching videos which is a plus. The lag is so minimal that it's almost imperceptible, and they can also be used to play casual games. They're not the best choice for video games that compete and are ideal for those who intend to use them for media consumption or for making calls using hands-free technology.

Sony is committed to incorporating intelligent features into its products, and the WH1000XM5 is no different. The active noise cancellation feature was one of the best I've ever used, and they come with many intelligent features that can enhance your listening experience. They also come with Sony's DSEE Extreme engine which upscales compressed music to near high-res quality. They're also compatible with Sony's own LDAC technology that streams audio with higher bitrates over Bluetooth (although not as high-quality as a dedicated headphone DAC).

2. Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2

Bowers & Wilkins flagship headphones, the PX7 S2 have always been on top lists of wireless headsets since the release of the first generation PX7, in 2015. This puts them in the same category as Sony WH1000XM5 or Bose QuietComfort. The PX7 S2 is the latest version that takes the original headphones to the next level, with improved ANC performance and a fresh appearance.

In the earcups, the 40mm bio cellulose drivers are bent to point straight at your eardrums in order to provide an audio experience that's more intimate than many other closed-back headphones can manage. The PX7 S2 lives up to this bold claim. The vocals are clear and the bass is deep when needed.

The PX7 S2 also performs very well when it comes to voice calls, with clear and crisp sound that doesn't drown out your own voice. They also offer a quick charge that allows you to return to full power in just two hours, and they're compatible with high-resolution audio, due to an adaptive Bluetooth codec that enables them to play 24-bit music.

For most listeners the most significant upgrade is the enhanced noise-canceling and audio performance. In our tests the PX7 S2 eliminated nearly all of our simulations of cabin noise with astonishing efficiency and performed exceptionally when we performed Mozart's Et In Carnatus Est and Sanctus from his Grosse Messe, demonstrating excellent understanding of the changing dynamics between the solo voice, the wind trio, and orchestral accompaniment.

The PX7 S2s aren't just noise-cancelling, but they come with a range of other features that make them highly comparable to other top-rated headphones. They're completely wireless and have cordless bluetooth headphones multipoint support, meaning that you can pair with two devices simultaneously. They also come with a built in microphone that allows hands-free calls while using your phone's assistant. The construction is durable and premium and will last you for many years.

They're not perfect, of course. The clamp force we used on our test models was a little tighter than we'd prefer and there aren't as many extra features on the app as other options, but these aren't major complaints. The PX7 S2s is an excellent wireless headset that beats out other competitors in its class. It's hard to imagine any other competitor to match them.

3. Focal Bathys wireless and bluetooth headphones

Focal Bathys is the best choice for audiophiles that value high-fidelity and are in search of an ANC headphone that is wireless headphoens. They're the French audio company's first ANC headphones that use Bluetooth and offer amazing sound in both Bluetooth mode and when connected to an device via USB for true hi-fi listening with up to 24 bits/192kHz (the headset is also capable of blocking external sound with its closed ear cups).

The Bathys are stunning with their glossy finishes and swooping curvatures that are similar to Focal's closed-back Celestee and open-back Elear headphones. They also come with premium materials such as aluminum and magnesium for an extremely sturdy build that is comfortable, solid, and worth the price.

The Bathys Bluetooth headphones offer crisp, vibrant sound quality. They easily surpass consumer ANC models of the same price like the Sony XM5/5 and Bose QC45. They can be pushed even further with direct DAC audio mode which makes them a great choice for serious hi-fi enthusiasts.

With the Focal and Naim app users can change the playback controls on their headphone as well as their virtual assistant and Bluetooth pairing preferences. The app lets users choose between quiet and soft intensities for ANC. They can also alter the brightness of LEDs on the earcups of the headphones, as well as alter the EQ settings. The app is basic but it has enough features to be worth the cost.

The only significant flaw is that the active noise cancellation doesn't perform as well as the competition. The headphone does not eliminate any ambient noise as well as the highly rated XM5 and AirPods Max. Its treble accuracy is also a bit off with a muffled mid to high range that takes away from the instruments and vocals.

The Focal Bathys aren't the most portable headphones. The ear cups aren't foldable up and they weigh slightly more than other models, meaning they're not the best choice for travel. They're best suited to an environment at home where they can be used for long listening sessions or as an example headphone for sound engineering purposes. The Bathys are comfortable to wear for long periods of time despite their size and bulk.

4. Sony WH-CH720N

The Sony WHCH720N is a excellent pair of wireless over-ear headsets at a reasonable price. They come with a reliable noise-cancelling feature that is capable of blocking out ambient noise, making them perfect for commuters and travellers. Their matte finish and robust construction add a touch of luxury.

They have a similar look to Sony's 1000X and XB910N headphone models. They have an ultra-slim headband that has the usual ear cup hinges, and a durable plastic construction. They are lightweight and comfortable, however they feel a bit too tight for my taste. They come with a USB-C charge port, 3.5mm jack and a decent-length cable included in the box. They support multipoint Bluetooth, which means you can connect to two devices at once should you wish to.

In my tests the CH720N's hybrid noise cancelling technology did well in reducing ambient noise, with only few notable blips while walking through Waterloo station and London Victoria. They weren't sound-silencers that zapped every single nearby sound however, and they struggled with lower-frequency sounds like the rumbling engine noises of buses and trains.

The CH720N's Bluetooth connection was smooth and displayed a low harmonic distortion. I tried a range of different genres and found they could handle the intricate interplay between instruments very well. It did a fantastic job of reducing the bass in rock tracks, and keeping the mix focused.

I like the ability to adjust the Sony Headphones Connect app to modify the CH720N's ANC as well as multipoint connectivity settings to your preference and also add a variety of audio presets. You can also utilize the app to activate DSEE, which upsacles compressed content and enhances its audio quality.

While the WH-CH720N does not have a few of Sony's primetime features when compared to the XM5 (such as Speak-to-Chat and Quick Attention) they do come with a robust set of features available for PS130. 360 Reality Audio, smart controls, and DSEE upscaling feature are all included. The only thing that is not available is LDAC Bluetooth High-Res Audio Support, which I believe would have been a great inclusion.
