Window Canary Wharf Brings Nature Into Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf's skyline is filled with skyscrapers that add excitement to the area. However, a few buildings in the area offer the luxury of nature and tranquility that harkens back to its former.

Climate change activists from the group Extinction Rebellion smashed replacement windows at HSBC's Canary Wharf headquarters on Earth Day to protest the bank's links to the fossil fuel industry. They wore patches emblazoned with the phrase 'better broken windows than broken promises and used hammers to smash glass.

Wardian Towers

The Wardian Towers in windows that overlook the wharf were the idea of international property developer EcoWorld Ballymore and bring a little bit of nature into one of London's most lively and bustling commercial areas. Situated on the south end of Canary Wharf, Wardian is close to the city centre as well as the South Quay footbridge and other areas of the Canary Wharf estate. Interiors in one and two bedroom homes are contemporary and chic with unique details inspired by the Wardian Case that compliment natural materials such as oak timber, marble and glass. It's clear that biophilic design and green spaces are becoming more sought-after. A variety of plants have been grown to make the Wardian Gardens, including the rare Wollemi pine and over 100 rare flowers.

The project was developed by EcoWorld Ballymore, Wardian Residential is a brand new development within windows at canary wharf, which combines an elegant lifestyle with a sense of nature.
