UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time, the handles on your doors will wear out and need to be changed. When doing this it is essential that the new handles match the critical dimensions of the handle that was previously used.

The three measurements you need to examine are the top screw's position, lever and key hole dimensions. Use the size guide to assistance with this.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever door handle is a modern handle that can be used on doors that are new or UPVC Replacement Door Handles replacement. This type door handle is offered in a wide range of styles and finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The spring lever design allows the handle to be set and angled to ensure a comfortable experience and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles, this will ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle over time. The lever that springs is adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back in the door. A shortened lever is also an excellent option for doors where the latch can be activated by the thumb turn on the inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are used on the majority of doors. These handle types can either operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two inline or UPVC Replacement Door Handles offset spindles (pad). They are typically employed on UPVC double glazed doors and come in many variations & styles.

Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this depends on the way your door and handle are utilized. For example, external doors require a more secure cylinder whilst internal doors can be secured with the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders come with additional features which can enhance security further, such as anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. If you cannot measure with the lock in position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, therefore it is important to make sure it's not too long.

The design of the latest cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce attacks by forcing cylinders to turn in a different direction. This will help deflect the attack, and ensure your door is secure.

There are cylinders that have been designed to resist snapping. This is a growing type of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is targeted with a special tool to snap off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is a faster and more convenient method of gaining access than through a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located inside the base plate of your door handle. It provides a sprung solution to help return your multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after usage. These handles used to have no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple feature is one of the most effective ways to fix this, and is an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in the open or closed position, as they aren't always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with sprung multipoint locks. They are not compatible with handles that are not sprung and you'll need to cut a hole in your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please check the image for a detailed diagram). They are a replacement handles for windows for existing damaged or missing cassettes inside the backplates of door handles of numerous brands of uPVC doors. They are available as a single unit. They feature a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
