Reasons to Change Door Lock

There are a variety of reasons to change your door lock, from upgrading your home's security, to redecorating your entrance. You might also have to change locks if your key gets stuck or is difficult to turn.

Take off the lock that was previously used.

This causes the cylinder eventually to rotate opening the lock body and allowing the latch to open for the handle.

If the door lock actuator is inoperable, you can remove the switch and wires from the actuator with small screwdrivers to loosen the bolt that locks and then separate the plastic cover that holds the electrical connector. After that, disconnect the door lock actuator and let it fall. You should be able find the two 10mm bolts that keep the actuator in place and remove them. After the actuator has been removed, you should be capable of disconnecting the black electrical connector and Change Door Lock remove it together with the lock and actuator assembly.

Replace the key

If your deadbolt is locked or door knob is not functioning, you'll need to rekey it or replace it. It's not too difficult and will save you money.
