UPVC Replacement Door Handles

As time passes, the handles on your doors will wear down and will require replacement. It is essential to be able to match the dimensions of the handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.

The three measurements to be inspected are the top screw position the lever and key hole sizes. Use the size guide to help you.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be used on doors that are new or replacement. This style of door handle is available in a variety of styles and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

Lever Pad

There are cylinders that have been constructed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a much faster and easier way to gain access than through a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which can delay insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located in the base plate of your door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to bring your multipoint lock handles back to their original position after usage. These handles used to have no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple part is the most effective way to solve this issue. It also prevents your door from getting stuck in the closed or open position, as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes have been specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks They will not work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will need to have a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to damaged or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are available as a single unit. They feature a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
