UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors wear out with time and require to be replaced. It is crucial to match the dimensions of the handles you have previously replaced when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever or lever door handle is a modern handle that can be installed on new or replacement doors. This style of door handle is available in a variety of styles & finishes. The door handles made of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are perfect for multi-point lock doors which require a robust design. The double glazing windows handles are inline and run from the same spindle and screw fixings. They are easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be placed and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This will ensure the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The lever that is sprung can be cut to fit a wider range of locks. This is useful for doors with narrower openings where the cylinder is further back in the door. A shorter lever is an excellent option for doors that have latches that can be activated by the thumb turn on the inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle differs from the lever handles that are found on most doors. These handles can work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are typically utilized on UPVC doors with double glazed door handles double glazing door handles and come in a variety of finishes & variations.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White Chrome, and Gold. The finish is in line with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high level of durability and performance for its intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad designs come with the spindle and screws that allow them to be put on an existing or new uPVC door. After you have identified the correct PZ size, you will need to ensure that the push and lever pads are designed to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. These are typically round or square, with an internal lever, and an external push pad.

Most of the UPVC lever pads we sell are sprung, meaning that they will return to their horizontal position when not in use, rather than hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from getting into a house. You will also find that the majority of UPVC lever pad handles are handed that allows you to put them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. The cylinder lock operates by using a key that unlocks the cylinder case. This exposes pins that can be aligned with those in the lock, allowing them to rotate the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is crucial; it depends on how your doors and handle are utilized. Doors that are external, for instance should be equipped with higher security cylinders, whereas internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can increase security, for instance, anti-drill or anti bump properties.

A euro cylinder needs to be measured accurately to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole at the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn should there be one. If you are unable to measure using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon may be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, therefore it is crucial to make sure it's not too long.

The design of many modern cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to minimize attacks by forcing cylinders to turn in a new direction. This will help to stop the attack and protect your doors.

Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a more frequent type of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is targeted with a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is much quicker and easier to achieve than opening the door with a multipoint lock and leaves little evidence of a burglary, which can impede the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned inside the base of your door handle's backplate providing a sprung solution to return your multipoint lock handles to their rest position after using. There was a time when handles did not have a spring built into them, and without it they are more likely to slide or drop when the locking mechanism is disengaged. This simple part is the best way to address this issue. It also helps prevent your door from getting stuck in the closed or open position as they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specially designed to be used with sprung multipoint locks, they will not fit non-sprung multipoint handles. You must have a hole specifically cut in your backplate in order for them to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement upvc door handle for damaged or missing cassettes inside the backplate of the door handle for many brands of upvc door handles doors. They are available as one unit. They come with a square cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.
