Best Over-Ear Headphones

Similar to the original PX7 These headphones have a sleekly refined look, with accent rings around each earcup, and a silver sheen on the headband. The earcups are cushioned using memory foam and fit snugly on the cranium, yet they never feel tight. The new form and shape was refined over a period of time, and delivers an incredibly comfortable clamping pressure that doesn't press into my skull, which is a rotund one.

They weigh 2 ounces less (or 307g) and a little thinner than the Sony WH1000XM5. They're light enough to fit in your bag or backpack without much discomfort, and will stay comfortably in place for long listening sessions. The headband can be folded up using a sturdy hinge at the back.

The headphones are powered by Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive. This is ideal for high-resolution audio as well for a tight video sync. The included 3.5mm cord connects to the USB-C port located on the right earcup. The headphone's status indicator is a helpful gesture, flashing green to indicate a rapid charge, and solid blue when Bluetooth pairing is in progress.

The B&W App offers the same controls that the onboard buttons in the hardware offer including bass and treble adjustment as well as action button assignments, wear detection, cycling through ANC modes and more. The app also shows an album cover and track title when you play music using your iPhone. Popular extras such as music presets and a soundscapes mode are not available, however.

The HD 800 S is a pair of headphones that are ideal for audiophiles and professionals. Their impressive sonic performance and comfortable fit make them an excellent option. They're costly however, you're getting a pair of headphones that will last for many years to be able to perform to their best in any environment.

Anker Soundcore Life q20

The Anker Soundcore Q20 is a great pair of headphones for those looking to kill time or simply need an affordable set of headphones that block out noise. The headphones apple come with a basic case which protects them when you put them in a bag. Their battery can last for several long-haul flights. Their ANC does a good job of blocking out chattering seatmates and engine rumbles when on the plane, but their audio profile is a little heavy and warm.
