Bladder Cancer Injuries

The bladder is an organ that has an inflatable shape inside your lower abdomen. It stores urine until you can pass it out of your body. The risk of bladder cancer is increased by smoking, exposure to certain chemicals at work (especially aniline - a coal chemical made of tar that's used to make dyes) and a family history of the disease.

Causes

Symptoms

Health care providers utilize this information along with other information to determine if bladder cancer is present. They can also order imaging studies to determine the severity of the cancer. These tests may include the CT scan or MRI of the abdomen or a pelvis and chest X-ray.

Bladder cancer cells can grow into the bladder wall and expand to other parts of the body. They are divided into stages based on the extent of their expansion and how they affect the lining of the bladder. The early stage of bladder cancer is called papillary carcinoma noninvasive, or carcinoma in situ (CIS). Stage T1 is an aggressive cancer that is found in the lining of your bladder but not in its muscle wall. Cancer that spreads to other parts of the body is known as metastatic bladder cancer.

After removing the tumor, your doctor may use chemotherapy to reduce the likelihood of the cancer returning. This is known as preoperative treatment or Neoadjuvant Therapy. In this procedure, you will receive chemotherapy drugs injected into your bladder through the urethra by using either a cystoscope, Bladder Cancer Injuries or a catheter, into the urethra directly. A specific tool that is attached to the end of the catheter or cystoscope is then used to eliminate bladder cancer cells or to destroy the tumor with high-energy electrical current. This process is known as fulguration.

Treatment
