The headquarters of the company is in Calgary, Alberta and employs more than 20,000 people. The network covers more than 22,000 miles and can transport close to 200,000 tons of cargo per day.

The US Surface Transportation Board has approved the merger of CP and Kansas City Southern railroads, which is a U.S. class 1 railroad. The STB set conditions to ensure that the new company is competitive, has safety standards that are industry leading and worker enhances passenger rail services. It will also invest in its infrastructure and boost economic growth.
